The Focal & Naim 10th Anniversary Edition

To commemorate their “tin anniversary”, the two brands are releasing a “vintage”, limited edition, high-fidelity system.

The Focal Naim 10th Anniversary Edition comprises Focal’s Sopra N°2 loudspeaker featuring a concrete finish on the side panels and a tin-coloured front panel. Inspired by great feats of architecture, the painted, brushed finishes give a unique and unprecedented metallic effect. A range of Naim electronics powers the loudspeakers: the NDX 2 music streaming device, combined with the NAC 282 and NAP 250 DR pre-amplifiers, all complemented by HiCap and NAPSC power supplies. NAD C 588 Turntable

NAD is well known for innovative, high performance, yet affordable, turntables. While the basic operation of a turntable seems simple, extracting all the musical energy from the record grooves without exciting destructive resonances requires both science and art.

The NAD C 588 turntable features a custom designed carbon fiber tonearm shaft with a fixed metal head shell and features a decoupled counterweight and magnetic anti-skate compensation. An Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is factory installed and offers superb tracking and a delicately nuanced full range sound. The C 588 uses a longer than usual 9” tonearm to optimize overhang and reduce the tracking angle error. To perfectly align the stylus NAD includes adjustments for azimuth and vertical tracking angle, and the C 588 also includes a gauge to calibrate the alignment, a rarity at this price point.
